Guaranteed tough.

If you receive your IVAR and there’s a problem, please contact us using the guidelines below. We’ll help you right away.

Since 2006, we’ve developed a reputation among customers and retailers for durability. Unlike most brands, IVAR isn’t owned by a venture capital firm. We’re family owned. As such, we can focus on quality, design, and delivering value to customers.

However the case, while our backpacks are made tough, things can happen.

Our warranty and why bags break.

To the original owner, our warranty guarantees against defects in materials and craftsmanship. If your product fails due to a defect, we will replace it at our discretion.

Defects are uncommon and are generally found in the first few uses. If something is wrong, you'll realize it pretty quickly. A zipper, for example, will not work from the get-go if it is defective. If two sections of fabric are not sewn together correctly, they’ll tear apart almost immediately.

However, and obviously, you can wear down a zipper due to over-stuffing, over-pulling, and dragging the backpack around. You can tear fabric with the right amount of friction over time, especially soft mesh fabrics. Take in mind that most people who use their backpacks on a regular basis replace them every 2 or so years. That said, we know of people who continue to use their original 2006 vintage IVAR backpacks.

To this extent, not considered to be a defect would be normal wear and tear, the natural breakdown of materials and colors, and certainly not accidents or over-use.

Zippers and fabrics.

The most vulnerable part of a backpack are the zippers. We’ve always used the best zippers — called YKK — and the appropriate size for main compartments. Nonetheless, with the right amount of over-pulling combined with normal wear and tear, a zipper can be destroyed or torn over time. As such, a zipper that has been working for years and then suddenly tears one day is not covered by this warranty.

** We would note that, in 2019, we adopted the base-line commitment to oversized #10 YKK zippers on all main compartments on all backpack models. #10 size is considered large and more than necessary. Nonetheless, implementing this size ensures even more durability, piece of mind, and long lasting use.

The same goes for a fabric tears. If you start using your IVAR and it tears right away, there was something wrong. This is a defect. We will take care of you right away. But if, years after using your backpack, you finally put a tear in it, that is not covered by our warranty.

NOTE: We do not repair backpacks.
